Checkbook Reconciliation Report Has a Difference on Last Page
When you print the checkbook reconciliation report after saving a reconciliation, the last page of the report has a calculation that compares the “Reconciled Balance” (what the account balance actually should be, based on the data and transactions you have entered) and the “Register Balance”. The difference amount in that section should $0.00. Reasons it might not be $0.00 are
The Statement Ending amount on the last page of the printed reconciliation report isn’t correct. This is the amount you entered as the statement ending balance before you saved the reconciliation;
There are transactions in the reconcile windows of the Checkbook screen that will never appear on a future bank statement;
There are transactions in the register that shouldn’t be there. You included them in a previous checkbook reconciliation rather than voiding them, and forced the reconciliation to balance.
You voided one or more checkbook transactions that had been included in previous checkbook reconciliations, but did not re-create and re-reconcile those transactions;
You have never reconciled the account so that the reconciled balance and register balance are the same.
A system error in one or more checkbook transactions.
To resolve a difference, do the Checkbook Reconciliation steps in our End of Period Procedures. Those procedures will have you run a Checkbook to GL Reconciliation report, will also help you find and fix certain issues, and will have you call QFloors Support for certain issues caused by system errors. After doing all of the the checkbook reconciliation steps in the End of Period Procedures, if the Checkbook to GL Reconciliation report still shows that you need to make an adjustment to the account, you have two options:
Find and correct your transaction errors.
Make the adjustment indicated.
