QFloors Won’t Open on Workstation After it is Updated to version 1803 of Windows 10 (Microsoft issue - discontinued SMBv1)
Issue:
QFloors won’t open at a workstation (error message that the server has been turned off, or the database files have been moved or deleted).
That workstation recently updated to version 1803 of Windows 10.
Click the Windows button, then click the Settings (gear) icon.
Click System then click About in the menu on the left.
Scroll down to the Windows Specifications section.
The server computer is running an older Windows operating system (Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or other outdated and unsupported operating system).
The problem is caused by Microsoft no longer installing and supporting the Server Message Block version 1 (SMBv1) network protocol in their operating systems. It was superseded by SMBv2, SMBv3 and later protocols.
On May 25, 2018, we tested and confirmed that with the introduction of Windows 10 version 1803, running QFloors on a server with an operating system that does not have SMBv2 or SMBv3, and attempting to open QFloors on a workstation running on Windows 10 version 1803, QFloors will not open.
Information Resources:
Windows 10 1803 can’t run EXE files from a network shared folders
Solution:
You must upgrade your server to a newer operating system.
See the System Requirements for your version of QFloors
Go to www.qfloors.com and click Products at the top of the page.
Click the More Details/System Requirements link under the heading for the QFloors product you use (Small Business or High Performance).
Scroll down the page and click the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS | PDF link.
The file will download to your computer.
Give a copy of the system requirements file to your network administrator, and consult with them about the server you need.
